About 10 years ago. I have been aware of the concept of co-ops for many decades.
What is the long term vision of your co-op?
We have a goal of being a mini-ecovillage, creating a model for urban sustainability including emphasis on organic gardening, "reduce, reuse, recyle", appropriate use of energy (we have just installed solar, are building a gray water system, and a rainwater catchment system. Another focus is political and social activism and community service.
Do you own or rent your living space?
My husband and I own the 4 unit building and later bought the neighboring building. There are three other units with co-owners currently. Others have been renting from us. We would like there to be more co-owners.
