Description
Please write a few lines about your co-op.
Mariposa Grove is an almost 7 years old activism and arts community in North Oakland. We own six apartments and lots of shared space (including one additional apartment functioning as our common house) in three adjacent multi-unit houses.
When did you form? Briefly, what is your co-op history?
Bought the property spring of '99 in dilapidated condition. As units were renovated, new people moved in. As of now, January 2006, we are working toward becoming a limited appreciation condo project through the Northern California Land Trust.
Do you own or rent your living space?
Own. In the process of condoizing.
Are there any social or environmental causes that unite your co-op?
Arts/Play/Creativity, Social Justice, Sustainability, Diversity & Clear Communication. We have many people with experience in performance arts.
What features of your co-op (as a whole) can you offter the community?
